Blowing Rock Adventure Shoot
To start off, this session got rescheduled THREE times for rain so by this time we were like we are going no matter what, rain or shine. I've known Abby and Drake since high school and was so excited when they wanted a fall mountain session for fun. This day did not go as planned but they turned out to be some of my favorite pictures to date. We headed to downtown Blowing Rock to get some pictures before heading to Moses H Cone Manor. Surprise the downtown parade that was scheduled ran late and was still going on when we got there so we decided to just go straight to the Cone Manor. Another surprise.. the main road to get to Cone Manor was through the parade street and was almost impossible to figure out how to get around it. But somehow we did it and got up to the Blue Ridge Parkway with still a lot of light left. SURPRISE #3 the parkway was closed on the part that lead to the manor. Abby and Drake are the best because they agreed to walk a mile to get to the Cone Manor because dammit we weren't giving up now!
Took a slight breather when we got in from our walk and were in AWE at the view from the park. The blue ridge mountains are breathtaking every time I visit. Safe to say it was completely worth all the inconveniences and we spent the next couple hours running around really just having a blast. I love when couples tell me they are awkward and not good at pictures because those are the ones that are focused on living in the moment and enjoying what's in front of them and those are the most fun couples to capture. It is a challenge I will ALWAYS accept. These photos turned out awesome because it was all about going on a little adventure together.
Enjoy the photos and thank goodness for awesome couples who are literally up for any and everything when it comes to my crazy ideas! I love when my couples put trust in me and always give it my all to get the best shots.
Please tell me that some of these photos wouldn't look like the Scottish highlands if we threw in some sheep into the field....
